Statement on Homelessness
People are homeless for a variety of complex reasons. Many individuals struggle with abuse, mental illness, or drug and alcohol addiction, sometimes in combination. There is no simple solution to addressing the needs of people living on the street.
It takes a coordinated, grassroots approach by community groups, health authorities and all levels of government working together to break the cycle of homelessness.
