Outreach and Advocacy Program
Provides support to women and/or family members who are dealing with the dynamics of family violence. Support and advocacy is available for women who are working with governmental and local agencies, lawyers, RCMP, and other appointments.
Outreach
- Provides one-on-one sessions or family sessions
- Provides non-judgemental services to women, men and family members
- Develops strategies that will foster positive self worth and self esteem
- Provides educational information and awareness about the dynamics of abuse and violence
- Provides support and guidance to family members who are dealing with the dynamics of family violence
- Provides information on healthy relationships
- Provides information on healthy relationships
- Provides information and brings awareness of local resources
- Assists individuals with setting short and long term goals
Advocacy
Advocacy is support and accompaniment to appointments and, when available, local transportation as required. Applicable to situations involving medical emergencies and legal or social services appointments.
This support is available for all adults who are interacting with:
- BC Housing Authority
- Criminal and Family Court
- Local agencies
- Mental Health
- Ministry for Children and Family Development
- Ministry of Human Resources
- RCMP
- Schools
